It seems these days there’s a national holiday for just about everything, but the latest one to be announced is one just about every Texan can get behind. Whataburger recently announced August 8th will be National Whataburger Day, and there is plenty for fans to get excited about. Not only will the Texas-based fast food chain be offering up some free food, but customers can get their hands on some exclusive merchandise as well.

On August 8th, Texas’ favorite fast food chain will hold the first ever National Whataburger Day. According to My San Antonio, the holiday coincides with Whataburger’s 73rd birthday, as it was founded August 8th, 1950 in Corpus Christi. To celebrate, Whataburger Rewards members can get a free Whataburger August 7 and 8 with no purchase necessary.

Dine in customers will also be able to get a special National Whataburger Day table tent. The fast food chain will donate $73,000 as well to help relieve school lunch debt for children in local communities. From now on, August 8 may be every Texans’ favorite holiday.
