Lent has officially begun, and for many that means no red meat or chicken on Fridays. Luckily for those following the tradition, Whataburger has their back for Lenten season. The fast food chain recently announced the return of fish to their menu for a limited time.
On Monday, Whataburger brought back the Whatacatch fish sandwich and their fish fillet platter. According to Houston Chronicle, the popular Lent items will remain on the menu until April 6. The fish sandwich comes with lettuce, tomato and tartar sauce on a bun, with the option of adding Whataburger's Creamy Pepper Sauce or a piece of cheese, while the platter features two fish fillets with a side of fries and tartar sauce, with an option for a side of jalapeños.
"This tasty sandwich is a fan favorite that offers a unique Whataburger experience outside of our classic beef and chicken menu options," Rich Scheffler, Whataburger executive vice president. With these items back on the menu, Texans won't have to struggle through giving up Whataburger for Lent.
