Back in 2019, the entire country went crazy when Popeye’s added a new chicken sandwich to their menu. This led to hour long waits for customers and many other chains debuting a chicken sandwich of their own to compete. Now, three years after the fast food wars, DFW-based Wingstop has decided to stoke the fire once again, announcing their new chicken sandwich with 12 different flavors.
On Tuesday, Wingstop launched their latest menu item, a fried chicken sandwich that can be tossed in 12 different sauce flavors. According to CW33, the flavors include Hot Honey Rub, Spicy Korean Q, Garlic Parmesan, Atomic, Louisiana Rub, Hawaiian, Mango Habanero, Mild, Cajun, Hickory Smoked BBQ, Original Hot and Lemon Pepper. “In a world of boring breaded sandwiches with only plain or spicy to choose from, Wingstop is debuting their signature chicken sandwich in restaurants nationwide today,” said Wingstop.

To celebrate the new menu item, Wingstop has also launched a giveaway asking customers to break up with their old chicken sandwich. All customers have to do is sign a breakup letter at chickensandwichsplit.com and share the letter on social media. Hopefully this chicken sandwich doesn’t lead to the same battle that the last one did.
