While attending U2's residency show at The Sphere on Saturday, January 27, Anthrax drummer Charlie (61), who also plays in the new incarnation of Pantera, and Butcher Babies' co-vocalist Carla (47), decided to tie the knot after dating since 2019.

Sharing the news with a series of photos from the big night on their social accounts, Benante explained, “We went to see U2 and this happened," in his caption, topping it off with engagement ring and heart emojis, and thanks to the band for being part of the excitement.

Posting the same images on her own account, Carla wrote, “It wasn’t a dream, I woke up in Vegas as the future Mrs. Benante," ending her post with an "I love you" to her future hubby, Charlie.

Back in 2021, Benante told Audio Ink about how the couple first met on the Metal festival circuit, eventually working up the nerve to ask her out, only to be turned down. Unfazed, Charlie persisted, explaining: "One day, I was in L.A. making a record, and I hit her up, and I said, ‘You wanna meet around here, go get a coffee or something?’ And, she turned me down... Then I hit her back up a little bit later, and she’s like, ‘Okay, I’ve to gotta go to the art store in that area. Do you wanna come with me? And we ended up going to an art store. And that was it."

A HUGE congrats to the Metal couple on their engagement! Be sure to pick up your tickets to see Pantera in 2024 on their North American tour with Lamb Of God.
