The Clash, Prince, and more set for 'Lifetime Achievement' awards from the Recording Academy

It’s one of the highest honors a musician can receive. Now, The Recording Academy has revealed the 2025 recipients of the prestigious GRAMMY Lifetime Achievement Award.

PrinceThe Clash and Frankie Valli are among the artists who were selected for the honor, which honors performers whose recordings have made “outstanding contributions of artistic significance.” Additional recipients include Frankie BeverlyDr. Bobby JonesTaj Mahal and Roxanne Shante.

Each recipient will be honored at a ceremony taking place at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre during GRAMMY week on February 1.

“It’s an amazing privilege to honor this eclectic group of music icons during the year’s biggest week in music,” said Recording Academy CEO, Harvey Mason jr. “Each of this year’s Special Merit Award recipients has left an indelible mark on music, from paving the way for others to innovation that forever has changed the trajectory of the musical landscape. We can’t wait to celebrate this group and their achievements in February.”
