Maskless suspect in Uber attack arrested after turning herself in

The second suspect in an attack on a San Francisco Uber driver has now been arrested.

San Francisco police say that Arna Kimiai, 24, turned herself in Sunday for charges of robbery, assault and battery, conspiracy and violation of health and safety codes.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported that Kimiai posted a $75,000 bond.

Kimiai is suspected of attacking an Uber driver more than one week ago after a mask dispute. Another suspect in the attack, Malaysia King, turned herself in to Las Vegas police on Thursday. Kimiai has told police Thursday afternoon that she would turn herself in "soon."

The driver, Subhakar Khadka, said the incident started after he picked up a group of three women in San Francisco and noticed that one was not wearing a mask.

According to Khadka, the women became upset after he told them he would not drop them off at their destination unless they were all wearing masks and asked them to get out. In a now viral video recorded by his rearview mirror camera, two of the women can be seen coughing loudly and taunting him. It was first reported by KPIX-5.

One of the women, believed to be Kimiai, then grabs his phone off of the dashboard and rips Khadka’s mask off, tearing one of the ear loops.

Khadka also alleges that after the women got out of the car, one sprayed pepper spray into the car.

While two arrests have been made, the investigation is ongoing. San Francisco police are asking anyone with information to call (415) 575-4444 or send a text to TIP411.

A GoFundMe fundraiser on Khadka’s behalf has raised over $96,000.
