South Bay authorities are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a man who sexually assaulted a legally blind woman in Cupertino last May.
The incident took place on May 5 at Stevens Creek Blvd. and North Stelling Rd., the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office said. The suspect – who didn't know the victim - approached the woman as she walking to work "and made verbal flirtatious advances towards her."

She "politely declined" and kept walking, police said.
He then allegedly approached her again in a parking lot in broad daylight, held her against her will and sexually assaulted her. When a witness approached them, "the suspect immediately ran away on foot through the parking lot and later fled in his vehicle." Authorities believe the suspect was following the victim before the assault based on when the incidents happened.
The injuries sustained by the victim weren't immediately clear.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, approximately 20-30 years old, 200-240 lbs. and five-feet-10-inches to six-feet tall.
The vehicle he was spotted in is thought to be a silver 2003-2007 Scion XB with no front license plate. Investigators think "colorful objects" like model cars appear to be on the vehicle's dashboard.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office at 408-808-4500.
