You may want to check your freezer, as a popular frozen treat sold at Aldi stores nationwide is being recalled after they were found to possibly contain metal pieces.
The taquitos, created by Bestway Sandwiches, were recalled on Saturday by the US Department of Agriculture, a notice shared.
The product was shipped to Aldi stores across the country, and a consumer notified Valencia, California-based Bestway Foods they had discovered a piece of metal in the product.
Meanwhile, another consumer notified the USDA’s Food and Inspection Service of a dental injury they sustained from the product.
The recalled frozen taquitos were produced on July 3, 2024, and Sept. 25, 2024. The recall involves almost 25,000 pounds of frozen chicken and cheese taquito products.
The recalled products were for the 20-ounce packages of Casa Mamita Corn tortillas filled with chicken, cheese, diced tomatoes, and green chiles.
The affected boxes have best-by dates of July 3, 2025, and Sept. 25, 2025, and an establishment number of “EST. P-40327.”
The FSIS is warning consumers to check their freezers for the recalled product, saying that those with them should throw them away or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.
