After an overwhelming response to a public trial run of the new Pittsburgh International Airport terminal, a second one has been announced.
The Airport will announce the second date soon with the first trial run scheduled for September 20.
“Members of the public already confirmed for the Sept. 20 trial will receive emails with instructions on which date they are assigned to,” the airport said in a release. “Additional members of the public who were not initially selected will receive emails with a new registration opportunity.”
Everything from checking in, going through screening, checking their luggage and more.
Everything will be just like you would be if you were flying out.
So, that means you'll need your Real ID or passport.
They want to make sure that when the airport does open later this year, that the proverbial kinks will be ironed out.
“The addition of a second trial gives us the opportunity to have even more preparation and lessons learned for the airport team and our operational partners,” said Daniel Bryan, who is the lead of the airport’s Operational Readiness Activation and Transition (ORAT) team that has been charged with ensuring that airport team members are prepared to run the airport smoothly before opening day.
Volunteers will be asked to provide feedback after the trial one.
A separate, open house, is scheduled for Saturday, October 11.
