Flash Flood Warning issued for Pittsburgh, surrounding areas

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Allegheny County, along with parts of Washington and Westmoreland Counties until 1:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Strong storms and rain are moving through the Pittsburgh area Tuesday morning.

Up to an inch of rain has already fallen in some areas, with the possibility of an additional inch.

The NWS says the following areas will experience flash flooding:

Pittsburgh, Penn Hills, Mount Lebanon, Bethel Park, Ross Township,

McCandless Township, Monroeville, McMurray, McKeesport,

Canonsburg, Gastonville, Shaler Township, Plum, West Mifflin,

North Side Pittsburgh, Baldwin, Upper St. Clair, Hampton Township,

Scott Township and Wilkinsburg.

This comes after several days of strong storms and rain bringing flash flooding to several areas, including Robinson Township, where part of Campbells Run Road was closed due to heavy flooding.

The storms should move through the area by mid-Tuesday afternoon.

After Tuesday, the threat of rain is expected to be minimal, but by the Fourth of July, temperatures will once again be near 90.
