Giant Eagle lowering prices on over 300 items through end of 2025

The next step in Giant Eagle’s plan to reduce the price of groceries for shoppers has been unveiled.

The Pittsburgh-based grocer is lowering prices on over 300 items by an average of 17 percent.

The new “seasonal pricing imitative” begins on October 2 and runs through the end of 2025.

Some of the items that will be lowered include large white eggs for $2.99 a dozen, stem tomatoes for $1.99 a pound, iceberg lettuce $2.19 a head, Giant Eagle-bran beans for .89 cents, Schwebel’s ‘Taliano Bread for $2.99 a loaf, Cheerios for $3.99 a box, shredded cheese, $2.29, Land O Lakes butter $4.99, brown sugar , $1.99.

Other items that will be available at lower prices are ground beef, apples, potatoes, onions, pork roast, bacon, pasta, soup, Oreos, pasta sauce, snakes, cupcakes, buns, Klondike bars, frozen vegetables, cheese and more.

“We are excited to introduce our new seasonal pricing initiative, On Sale This Season,” said Justin Weinstein, Giant Eagle Executive Vice President and Chief Merchandising and Marketing Officer. “By lowering the prices of key items that our customers frequently purchase, we intend to deliver reliable everyday value and savings opportunities for Giant Eagle customers as they shop for their families throughout the season.”

It's part of Giant Eagle's new "Because it Matters" campaign.
