Allegheny County Police have charged a Latrobe man after a gun was found in his travel back at Pittsburgh International Airport.
The firearm was stopped by TSA just before 11:45 on Wednesday morning. Officials with the Transportation Security Administration found the handgun in 51-year-old John Frye's carry-on bag.
Police say Frye does not have a concealed carry permit and is facing a misdemeanor charge. The FBI was also notified.
Even if you have a concealed carry permit, you are not allowed to bring a firearm through an airport security checkpoint.
Anyone traveling with a gun must have it in a checked back and it must be in a proper case.
Federal civil fines can reach up to $10,000 with repeat offenders facing nearly $14,000 in fines.
