Natrona Heights supermarket set to close its doors in October

The Community Supermarket in Natrona Heights has set a date for its closure.

The Tribune Review reports the store is tentatively set to close at the end of October.

It has operated at Heights Plaza since 2002.

Store owners announced the shutdown last month.

The store's 30 employees will not be left without jobs. So far, about half of the staff has accepted the company’s offer to relocate to one of its other locations in Lower Burrell, Penn Hills or Bloomfield.

The first Community Supermarket opened in 1927, with the grocery store recently celebrating its 98th anniversary.
