Nemacolin has confirmed layoffs at its Fayette County resort, cutting an undisclosed number of jobs.
In a statement released to KDKA Radio, Nemacolin said the layoffs followed a broader business evaluation tied to reduced room inventory and operational demand.
The resort called the decision difficult but necessary to ensure long-term stability, thanking employees for their dedication and service.
The company did not provide additional details.
Meanwhile, videos circulating on social media appear to show Nemacolin’s chief operating officer, Dillard Westmoreland, addressing employees about the layoffs during what he described as a “difficult conversation.”
Despite the job cuts, the Nemacolin website lists 38 open positions, including two posted Wednesday.
The organization has upwards of 1,000 employees, according to its LinkedIn page.
