A person is recovering after a vehicle went off the road down a steep embankment on Monday.
It happened on Paintertown Road in Penn Township, Westmoreland County.
The Penn Township Ambulance Association says medics arrived to find a sedan, with one person inside, over a hill.
A rope system was rigged to lower a first responder down to check on the person involved in the accident.
Medics found the person involved in the crash to be in stable condition but the car was “in real danger” of rolling down the hill.
Multiple fire companies worked to stabilize the car and rescued the patient using a stokes basket.
They were pulled up the rope system to the roadway and taken to a local hospital.
The rescue took a little over a half hour and Penn Township Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
