Popular pizzeria damaged by fire after Portnoy review reopening Thursday

A popular pizzeria in Delmont that was damaged by fire in 2024 is reopening its doors on Thursday.

Ianni’s Pizzeria on Freeport Street announced on Wednesday that they’ll be open from 4 to 8 p.m. on February 19 for carryout only.

The phones will be turned on at 2 p.m. for preorders. The phone number is 724-468-0002.

“We have missed all of you and being in Delmont!” Ianni’s wrote on Facebook. “It has been a long and difficult road but God has blessed us with an opening…”

If you’re unable to get through and miss out on Thursday, Ianni’s says they will be posting limited hours for the rest of the week.

They add normal full-time hours will resume soon.

The September 2024 fire caused significant damage and came just shortly after Barstool Sports founder David Portnoy visited the restaurant for his popular One Bite reviews.

Portnoy gave Ianni's a high rating of 7.7.

Nearby pizzeria A Slice of New York posted on its Facebook page, encouraging those craving pizza to support Ianni’s.

“They scored really well with Barstool and never really got to see the effects of that,” A Slice of New York wrote on Facebook. “Here’s what I’m asking If you, ff you were planning on Pizza this evening, please consider going there instead.”
