Space Jam: A New Legacy

rated PG, starring LeBron James and Don Cheadle

In 1996 Space Jam hit the theaters and pulled in an astonishing 230 million dollars worldwide. The greatest basketball player of our time, Michael Jordan, starred in the tale of a retired champion recruited by the Looney Tunes to help them win a game that could earn them their freedom.

This week LeBron James takes the lead with the stakes even higher than the last time. LeBron's son Dom, played admirably by Cedric Joe, is kidnapped by a rogue intelligence. This time, our star must recruit Bugs Bunny and the other Looney Tunes to compete in a basketball game to try and win back his son.

One of the biggest differences in the two movies is that in Space Jam, Michael Jordan was always in live action form limiting the interaction with the rest of the animated cast. Space Jam: A New Legacy has LeBron transitioning into an animated form which allows him to fully participate in all of the adventure.

The film is great for elementary age kids with plenty of really good messaging about love and respect. Visually, the picture pops off the screen with magnificent color and fast paced action.

A Big Bang at the Box Office
This week at the Box Office saw Marvel's Black Widow set a pandemic-era record. The MCU film brought in 80 million dollars in its opening weekend and at the time of this writing over 175 million dollars worldwide.
