LendingTree CEO and Steelers minority owner Doug Lebda died in an ATV accident over the weekend at a family farm in North Carolina.
Lebda founded LendingTree in 1996 to simplify the loan shopping process after his personal frustrations when getting his first mortgage.
Doug Lebda was 55. He became a part owner in 2019 after David Tepper had to sell his nearly 10 percent portion of the team after becoming the primary owner of the Carolina Panthers.
LendingTree’s Board has appointed Scott Peyree as company COO and President after Lebda’s death.
The Board of Directors released the following statement following Lebda’s passing.
