A suspect in the Ross Park Mall shooting last month is back on the streets this afternoon after he had surrendered to sheriff's deputies earlier Thursday.
A district magistrate set a $200,000 unsecured bond for Myshawn Scott, the 16-year-old who's being tried as an adult.
That means Scott is free after signing an agreement to pay the $200,000 if he fails to appear in court.
The Allegheny County Sheriff’s office released the following statement, “The suspect in the Ross Park Mall shooting surrendered to our deputies earlier today. He was given a $200,000 unsecured bond and released by Magistrate Cooper.”
Court records show a preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 29.
Scott is charged with a number of crimes including recklessly endangering another person, possession of a firearm by a a minor, and possessing a firearm without a license.
Two other teens are being tried as juveniles on other charges in the shootout near Dick's House of Sports and Nordstrom.
They remain in custody.
