Two men suspected of dog fighting ring in Aliquippa charged

Two Aliquippa men are facing charges in connection with a suspected dog fighting ring.

The Beaver County Humane Society seized 23 dogs back in January after the animals were found chained outside during the blizzard, and the dogs also showed wounds consistent with fighting.

Ronald Kidder and Rahman Terry are facing 175 charges, including ten counts of torture and 16 counts of animal fighting.

The Beaver County Humane Society has been housing the dogs for more than 50 days, saying expenses related to their care have already exceeded $50,000.

The Humane Society says they cannot place the dogs under adoption until they are signed over by the defendants or found guilty and have to surrender the dogs.

“We’re not sure how long it could take but based on other recent humane cases we’ve brought to prosecution, it may be years before this situation is resolved,” the Human Society says in a release.
