Two people hospitalized after Downtown Pittsburgh stabbing

Update: Pittsburgh man charged in the incident

UPDATE: Police have charged 51-year-old Kevin Jenkins of Pittsburgh. He is charged with a felony count of aggravated assault and misdemeanor charged of recklessly endangering another person.

Police say once released from the hospital, Jenkins will be transported to the Allegheny County Jail. 

Two people were hospitalized after a stabbing Sunday night in Downtown Pittsburgh.

Police say it happened near Frankie Pace Park a few minutes before 8 p.m. at Bigelow Square and Chatham Street.

A man and a woman told officers they were approached by a man who demanded money and when they refused they were stabbed.

The man had wounds to his chin and a leg and the woman had a superficial arm wound. Both were in stable condition.

Police say the suspect was arrested and also taken to a hospital with a leg wound.
