Beloved pop star, actress and entrepreneur Beyoncé Knowles is now a billionaire, according to a recent update from Forbes, which publishes a ranking of world billionaires.
Known by her “Beyhive” of fans as Queen Bey, the 44-year-old former Destiny’s Child frontwoman and longtime pop icon surged to billionaire status in part due to her pivot to country music and the success of her Cowboy Carter tour. It brought in $400 million in ticket sales alone and Beyoncé was the third highest paid musician in the world this year, Forbes said.
Forbes has been publishing a list of billionaires since 1987. That first list had 140 names, and this year’s ranking has more than 3,000. As Beyoncé enters this “three comma club” ranks to join her husband, Jay-Z, let’s check out what other celebrities made the list.
While Forbes itself identified 18 celebrity billionaires earlier this year, and Audacy plucked a few other well-known names to keep an eye on. Here, they are, organized by rank and what they’re known for:

When it comes to success in the music industry specifically, Forbes said “touring accounts for more than three-quarters of an artist’s annual income,” and that “the top-earning artists are the ones who can fill the biggest venues,” much like billionaire Taylor Swift on her record-breaking Eras Tour. Nearly a decade ago, Beyoncé became the first woman to headline an all stadium tour, and her touring success has continued with the Renaissance and Cowboy Carter tours.
Forbes noted that Beyoncé has said the albums those tours get their names from are intended to be part of a trilogy. Her next tour may bump her higher on the billionaires list.
