Diontae Johnson gets 1-year deal with Browns

After playing for 3 teams in 2024, Johnson returns to AFC North

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – As if the Browns couldn’t have enough personalities in their locker room, add former Steelers receiver Diontae Johnson, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.

After being traded to Carolina last year, Johnson played for the Panthers, Ravens and Texans last year. He refused to play in a game for Baltimore and put on waivers, claimed by Houston and put on waivers after being upset with his lack of usage in the Wild Card game. The Texans waived him even though they won the game and continued in the playoffs.

Johnson will be reunited with quarterback Kenny Pickett along with a quarterback group that includes injured Deshaun Watson, 40-year-old Joe Flacco, rookie Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders. The receivers group includes Jerry Jeudy, acquired from Denver where Johnson will be the most experienced receiver other than DeAndre Carter.

The former Steelers third-round pick will turn 29 in July. He is now four years removed from his career-highs of 107 catches, 1,161 yards and eight touchdowns in Ben Roethlisberger’s final season.
Overall he has 424 catches, 4738 yards, 28 touchdowns and a 60.1 catch percentage.
