A GoFundMe to help support the family of longtime sports journalist Dale Lolley has been established.
Lolley, a native of Mercer County, covered the Steelers for over 30 years, beginning in 1993 until his passing earlier this week.
The 56-year-old covered the Steelers for the Observer-Reporter, DK Pittsburgh Sports and most recently for Steelers.com as a contributing writer and editor.
He died earlier this week after developing an “extremely aggressive metastatic head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.”
Dale leaves behind his wife Amy, just recently after they celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary.
He also leaves behind two sons and one daughter.
You can contribute to the GoFundMe HERE and 93.7 The Fan has confirmed with the Steelers organization that this is the official fundraiser for the Lolley family.
Lolley's daughter posted a message on "X" Friday afternoon.
“He has been committed to giving back to the community and has headed or supported various local sports organizations,” GoFundMe organizer Holly Maddams said. “He is the longest seasoned NFL reporter with over 34 years covering the Pittsburgh Steelers for local papers, online news organizations, and most recently working directly for the Steelers organization.”
