Do We Have To Do This Again?
Why?
Why do we have to do this with every wide receiver that comes through 3400 South Water Street?
George Pickens isn’t a “ticking time bomb.” He’s not Antonio Brown. Neither was JuJu Smith-Schuster.
Nor Chase Claypool.
Was JuJu a bit too enamored with himself and his social media? Sure.
Did Claypool think he was a whole lot better than he was? Absolutely.
But I don’t remember them throwing footballs at people as they stormed out of the practice facility or launching furniture off of balconies or beating up moving truck drivers or anything similarly bananas.
Maybe Pickens will get there someday. But why do we always assume that the next young receiver is going to be combustible? It’s like we’re a beaten puppy who just assumes all humans are abusive.
Let Pickens be. And if he gets pissed that his quarterback and offensive coordinator can’t find a way to get him the ball, I’m ok with it.
Sans Mannings
Apparently a duel between Deshaun Watson and Kenny Pickett isn’t enough to get the Manning brothers down to their basements.
Although there was a great suggestion in response to the news:
It’s a great point: Why not find former players with some personality who could pull it off?
I don’t personally mind Joe Buck and Troy Aikman, but for those who are looking for an alternative, it couldn’t hurt, right?
Same
Gonna give off some major boomer energy here, but I didn’t watch the MTV VMAs on Tuesday night.
Apparently, while Sean Combs (Diddy, P.Diddy, Puff Daddy, Puffy) was accepting an award, he mentioned he was going to be a professional football player, specifically for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
This is like me saying I wasn’t originally going to work in radio, I was going to play for the Penguins because of that one time I met Bryan Trottier at Neville Ice Arena on the South Side.
C’mon, man.
