Pirates sign veteran Tommy Pham to 1-year deal

According to multiple reports, the Pirates are signing outfielder Tommy Pham.

The Athletic reports it’s a one-year deal worth $4 million.

There is also an additional $250k in incentives as part of the deal.

The 36-year-old was taken by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2006 draft, making his debut in 2014.

Pham has a .258 career batting average with a .773 OPS.

He has 470 career RBI, 139 home runs and 126 stolen bases.

Last season, Pham played with the White Sox, Cardinals and Royals. He batted .248 in 2024 with nine home runs, 39 RBI along with a .647 OPS.

Fan Sports director says if Pham is going to be a bench piece, it’s a good move for the Bucs, but if he’s expected to be an everyday player, not so much.

Pitchers and catchers report to Bradenton for Spring Training next week and the first full-team workout is February 18.
