Steelers can go for it in 2025 and still get their franchise QB next year

When the Steelers opened the season last year, the Steelers had:

QB Justin Fields
QB Russell Wilson
RB Najee Harris
WR George Pickens
WR Van Jefferson
TE MyCole Pruitt
G Spencer Anderson
G James Daniels
OT Dan Moore Jr.
DE Larry Ogunjobi
LB Elandon Roberts
CB Donte Jackson
S Minkah Fitzpatrick

All of those guys are now gone.

“We haven’t seen this before,” said Adam Crowley on The Fan Morning Show about the team's turnover.

“The overhaul of the roster from last year to this year is significant,” said Dorin Dickerson. “The most significant one . . . it’s the quarterback room which is shocking to me. You usually have somebody from the last regime to stick around and you could say Mason Rudolph was a Steeler before, but he was never in this offense.”

So, for the second year in a row, the Steelers quarterback room is completely different.

While the quarterback room is completely different this year, Dickerson says he thinks the room of Aaron Rodgers, Mason Rudolph, Will Howard and Skylar Thompson is more thought out compared to getting Justin Fields and Russell Wilson for cheap last year.

Adam and Dorin say it shoes the Steelers are going in on winning this coming year and not punting on the 2025 season.

That might make some Steelers fans mad because they won’t get a high draft pick to get their franchise QB when the draft comes to Pittsburgh next year.

But Crowley says they can still get their guy.

“You’ll have to pay more when it’s the time and by pay more I mean in terms of draft assets,” said Crowley. “They’ll probably have to use at least two first-round draft picks to get their franchise quarterback next year. Okay, so be it.”
