BELL GARDENS, Calif. (KNX) — A man was killed and another was injured Wednesday night in a shooting inside a marijuana store in Bell Gardens.
Officials with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said they believe the shooting, which took place at 7:54 p.m. in the 5800 block of Florence Avenue, was gang-related.
Responding deputies found two Hispanic men in their late teens or early 20s inside the store suffering from gunshot wounds, according to authorities.
One of the men was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was in unknown condition, Deputy David Yoo said.
Detectives learned several people entered the business in what was believed to be an attempted robbery. A gunfight ensued, leaving two men shot inside, Yoo said.
The suspects fled the business and remain outstanding, he added. There is no suspect or vehicle description.
