The victims in the Fourth of July attack were identified as 47-year- old William Thomas Collins and 42-year-old Eric Clayton Hodges, both of Huntington Beach, according to Orange County Sheriff's Sgt. Matthew Parrish.

The attack was reported about 11:15 p.m. Thursday near 16th Street and Pecan Avenue, according to the Huntington Beach Police Department.

Besides the two victims who died from their wounds, three other people also were injured with non-life threatening injuries. All five victims were adults, Carey said.
