3.2M earthquake strikes San Gabriel Valley near Sierra Madre

A preliminary 3.2 magnitude earthquake was reported in the San Gabriel Valley Thursday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake was reported about four miles to the north of Monrovia and Sierra Madre at 3:08 p.m.

According to the USGS “Did You Feel It” tracker, the earthquake was felt across the San Gabriel Valley and as far west as Burbank. It hit at a depth of about 8.5 miles.

A 2.6 magnitude earthquake immediately followed the initial temblor.
