Three hospitalized after fire at marijuana grow facility in Canoga Park

A fire at a marijuana grow facility in Canoga Park Monday afternoon injured at least three people.

Around 1:30 p.m., a business owner nearby reported hearing explosions and said he saw people running out of the commercial building in the 8400 block of Canoga Avenue, FOX LA reported.

Officials said two people were critically injured. Another had been seriously hurt.

Flames tore through the building, sending black smoke billowing across the sky. Witnesses posted videos to Twitter of the fire not far from their homes.

The Los Angeles Fire Department said it was responding to a “major emergency" using "defensive firefighting operations."

Firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to neighboring structures.
