
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS RADIO) – At least four people inside the Oakland Coliseum were struck by bullet fragments from "celebratory gunfire" following the Oakland Athletics' Fourth of July game, according to a release by team officials and Oakland Police on Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m., shortly after the A’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday night, which was attended by a team season-high 24,403 fans.
Following the postgame fireworks show, officers were notified of a possible shooting victim. After a preliminary investigation, authorities located three fans struck by "bullet fragments" from what appeared "to be celebratory gunfire throughout the city of Oakland," officials said. In addition, a fourth victim later walked into a local hospital.
All four victims sustained non-life threatening injuries, according to police.
An investigation is ongoing. No other information was released.
