40-year-old man fatally struck in Pomona hit-and-run crash

A 40-year-old man was fatally struck by a hit-and-run motorist in Pomona, police said Wednesday.

The man was struck around 6:20 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Temple Avenue and Foley Way, according to the Pomona Police Department. Police said the man was hit while trying to cross Temple.

Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics took the man to a hospital, where he died, police said.

The victim's name was being withheld pending notification of relatives by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.

Pomona Police Department's Major Accident Investigation Team was conducting an ongoing investigation into the crash, police said. There was no immediate information available about the vehicle that struck the man.
