In a statement released earlier Tuesday morning, the airline apologized for the inconvenience and said their teams were working to resolve the issue "as quickly as possible..."

One stranded passenger took to social media to ask American how long the delay would be and American responded to them. It was probably not what they wanted to hear though, American said -they had no timeframe as to when the glitch will be fixed, adding "Your safety is our utmost priority, once this is rectified, we'll have you safely on your way to your destination."

American is back in business and flights are back on, however you're gonna wanna check your flight status on the American Airlines website to make sure your flight is not affected.
