An Apple Valley robbery victim’s body was found in the Landers desert, San Bernardino County murder investigators believe. The man, who has not been identified, was shot and killed during the crime several hours earlier, deputies said.
Just after midnight on Saturday, Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call in the 21600 block of Roundup Way.
“Deputies were told a male adult was shot and robbed at the location, then transported to an unknown desert area where he was left,” the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release.
At 5:25 p.m., a man was found dead near Old Woman Springs Road in Landers by an off-road vehicle rider.
Investigators believe the man found dead was the same man who was shot and killed in Apple Valley.
The investigation is ongoing.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Detective Eric Ogaz, Specialized Investigations Division at (909) 890-4904.
