SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KNX) – A California Highway Patrol officer found 200 pounds of methamphetamine during a traffic stop on Friday.

Around 9 p.m., a CHP Valley Division Canine Officer conducted a traffic stop on a Honda Accord that was speeding.

“The officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop on the vehicle and observed criminal indicators which lead them to deploy their departmental K9,” the department said.

The K9 alerted the officer, who then searched the car and found four cardboard boxes containing 200 pounds of methamphetamine.

Details surrounding the suspect have not been released at this time.
