LOS ANGELES (KNX) – Outgoing Los Angeles Councilmember Paul Kortez had some choice words for protesters at City Hall on Friday.

“So lastly, I would just say to the disruptors and protestors who have done their best to make it difficult for us to do our work in the last two and half years, in their own words, I yield the rest of my time and f**k you,” Kortez said.

Kortez’s remarks were met with cheers and roaring applause from those at City Hall.

His words come following a chaotic day at City Hall when Councilmember Kevin de León made an appearance during a meeting. Protestors yelled as supporters of de León cheered his name.

De León’s presence inside City Hall did not last long as he left following a conversation with City Council President Paul Krekorian.

Friday marked Kortez’s last day in office. He was defeated by Kenneth Mejia in the November election.
