LOS ANGELES COUNTY (KNX) – An evacuation order was put in place in Bouquet Canyon Road as fire officials battle a brush fire in the Angeles National Forest north of Santa Clarita.

Closures were announced between Spunky Canyon to Plum Road.

The Sierra Fire was first reported around 3 p.m., according to KTLA. The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded along with the U.S. Forest Service.

Angeles National Forest said there are currently 250 firefighters on the scene, as well as six helicopters and three airtankers.

The fire was reported to be two acres around 3:15 p.m., but has since grown to 11 acres and is 25% contained, according to the Angeles National Forest.

Caltrans District 7 announced that because of the Bouquet Canyon closure, the Antelope Valley Freeway could be used as an alternate route.

This is a developing story.
