WHITTIER, Calif. (KNX) – Law enforcement officials responded to a barricaded suspect with a weapon in Whittier Sunday, according to multiple reports.
The incident was reported around 2:30 a.m. in the 7900 block of Comstock Avenue, according to Fox 11.
Deputies told CBS L.A. the suspect was allegedly wanted on “suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.”
Those nearby were evacuated and Los Angeles deputies asked people to avoid the area.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department later ended the stand off after it was determined that the suspect was not at the location, and the neighborhood was cleared as safe, according to City News Service.
