Fire damages several cars in Canoga Park

A fire in a carport and garage area behind an apartment complex in Canoga Park Friday damaged several vehicles, but no one was hurt.

Firefighters sent to the 8200 block of North Owensmouth Avenue about 7:35 a.m. extinguished the flames in 25 minutes, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The apartment building sustained "superficial damage from radiant heat and smoke," the LAFD reported.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
