
FONATANA, Calif. (KNX) – A burglar was shot and killed after he broke into a Fontana home Saturday night.
Fontana police said it happened after 11 p.m. in Cypress Avenue. The homeowner saw the burglar break in. That’s when the homeowner grabbed his gun to defend himself and called the police, police told KABC.
While on the phone with the police, gunfire was exchanged between the burglar and homeowner. The homeowner then shot the burglar in the upper torso, killing him.
When police arrived, the burglar was dead. He was also described as “holding gun and wearing gloves.”
The homeowner told police had several of his guns stolen, but it’s unclear if the burglar was involved.
The shooting remains under investigation.
