The U.S. government has reinstated a program to deliver free, at-home COVID tests to any household in the country.
Earlier this year, the federal government stopped taking orders in order to conserve at-home, rapid tests. As hospitalizations and deaths due to COVID rose over the past few months, though, the Biden Administration decided to restart the delivery program. Here's how to get your free tests.
Starting Monday, every household in the U.S. will be able to order four COVID tests for free through the U.S. Postal Service.
To order, residents just need to submit their name and shipping address. An option is available to include an email address to receive shipping updates.
Officials also noted that the government recently created extensions for expiration dates on older COVID tests — and they recommended that individuals check the latest information from the Food and Drug Administration to see whether their tests have expired.
The latest round of COVID tests will begin shipping in October.
