Kevin Costner’s divorce from Christine Baumgartner has taken another twist.
According to PEOPLE, new court documents claim Costner did not have an affair during their union, but he “does not know for a fact” whether she did or not.
This news comes before a hearing on child support and the November trial, which will focus on the couple’s premarital agreement. Baumgartner’s attorneys have asked for extra documentation concerning Costner’s finances.
Language from Costner’s team came after Baumgartner’s put in a request with the court which included verification of any "expenses paid by you, or any person at your request or on your behalf, relating to any extramarital romantic relationships."
Costner rejected, with his attorneys writing the request was, “propounded only for purposes of harassment, is oberbraod as to ice period and subject matter, burdensome, oppressive and impermissibly compound.”
They also wrote the request was “not relevant to the subject matter.”
“[Kevin] has no responsive documents for ‘extramarital romantic relationships’ in which he engaged because he engaged in none,” they wrote.
Her lawyers did not respond to the publication’s request for comment.
An evidentiary hearing related to the divorce trial is set for Aug. 31 and Sept. 1.
