Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee.
Now, Long Beach Congressman Robert Garcia told KNX News’ Craig Fiegener he is now endorsing Harris.
“First, obviously, we're incredibly grateful at this moment to President Biden. And he's such a great American and will be remembered, I think as one of the best presidents that we've ever had and certainly the best president of my lifetime and his record is extraordinary,” Garcia said. “And of course, I could not be more excited for Vice President Harris, as a Californian, as someone that I've known for a long time. She has my full endorsement and support.”
He said he thinks people are going to start to see the Democratic Party unify around Harris over the course of the next couple of days.
“And then of course, the vice president will have to select a vice presidential running mate. And then we go into the convention in just a couple of weeks where we'll show she'll officially be our nominee,” Garcia explained.
“Let's not forget that Kamala Harris is a prosecutor and she's gonna prosecute the case against Donald Trump. There's nobody better to do it,” he continued.

Garcia believes Harris will do a great job debating former President Donald Trump.
“I think the Republicans are probably scrambling to try to figure out what they're going to do, but let's be crystal clear. She is going to win and we're going to have another incredible four years of progress,” he said.
Garcia said whoever Harris picks to be her vice president, she’ll make a great choice.
