LOS ANGELES (KNX) — A 29-year-old was allegedly shot and killed by his stepfather in Compton Thursday night, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department. Homicide investigators said he was found lying in the street in front of a home on Clymar Avenue when deputies arrived.
Deputies responded just after 8 p.m. to the home in the 14900 block of Clymar Avenue after reports of an assault with a deadly weapon/gunshot victim. Upon arriving, they found the victim, who's name has not been released, unresponsive in the street with several gunshot wounds.
"Investigators learned the suspect had come to a home believed to be his mother and stepfather’s," Deputy Miguel Meza with the LASD said in a statement.
"Some type of altercation occurred that resulted in the victim apparently being shot by his stepfather."
The man's 66-year-old stepfather surrendered to deputies when they arrived and is cooperating with the investigation, according to the LASD. The murder weapon was found at the scene and taken in as evidence.
