A Chino Hills man was charged Wednesday with killing a man in Newport Beach.
Brandon Christian Chanman was charged with murder with a sentencing enhancement for the personal use of a deadly weapon.

Chanman is accused of killing 48-year-old Reginald Hidalgo of Newport Beach.
Police were dispatched at 6:38 p.m. Friday to the 1200 block of Park Newport for a welfare check on the victim, police said.
When officers arrived they found the victim's body.
Chanman, who was arrested Monday, and the victim were acquainted, police said, but a motive for the shooting was not released.
