
A man was shot near a hotel in Redondo Beach, and an investigation was underway, authorities said Wednesday.
Officers were sent to the 200 block of South Pacific Coast Highway at about 11:20 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Redondo Beach Police Department.
The location is near the Redondo Pier Inn, about a half-mile from the pier.

Upon arrival near the front of the hotel, officers located a victim, who had sustained a gunshot wound to his upper body, police said in a statement.
Officers provided medical attention until paramedics from the Redondo Beach Fire Department arrived, and the victim was taken to a hospital with injuries that were described as non-life-threatening.
"Detectives from the Redondo Beach Police Department Investigations Division have initiated an investigation into the shooting," police said. "At this time, there is no suspect information and no known motive for the crime. There is no evidence of an ongoing threat to the community. The name of the victim is being withheld."
