Volunteers at the Herby Ham Activity Center told BuzzFeed News that Meghan brought “two ‘large’ crates” of food and drinks for those participating at the center’s blood drive. They said Markle wore a baseball cap and a black mask.

One volunteer, Georjean Burnell, told the outlet she and the other volunteers had no idea that it was Meghan until later on.

“I mean, to be honest, we thought she was our neighbor,” Burnell said, adding that Meghan and her crew helped the volunteers lay out snacks and water for donors.

Meghan also visited the makeshift memorial for the victims outside Uvalde County Courthouse. PEOPLE Magazine said she laid “white flowers with a purple ribbon.”

A spokesperson for Meghan told the magazine she went "in a personal capacity as a mother, to offer her condolences and support in person to a community experiencing unimaginable grief."
