Murder charges have been filed against the surviving suspect in last week’s kidnapping murder in Chino Hills.
On Monday, San Bernardino County District Attorney Jason Anderson announced the charges filed against 66-year-old Jianquan Bo, who Anderson said was sitting in the passenger seat when deputies pulled over the car.
“We also filed, in addition to the murder charge, a special circumstance allegation that the murder was committed in the commission of a kidnapping,” Anderson announced.
Anderson also said that they believe a business dispute is what led 67-year-old Zhengfeng Bo and his brother to kidnap 60-year-old Shukur Aikebaer on the night of July 29.
“There's been a relationship there among the gentlemen through business relations, and then obviously there's been some type of dispute, perhaps either decision-making within the business or some financial loss,” Anderson said.
Deputies shot and killed Bo after prosecutors say he fatally shot Aikebaer in front of law enforcement.
A GoFundMe has been set up for Aikebaer's family. As of Monday afternoon, over $34,100 has been raised.
