
Oscar hopeful Colman Domingo scored a leading three individual nominations Thursday in the acting categories for the 55th NAACP Image Awards, while Victoria Monét earned a leading six nods in the music categories.
Domingo, who is nominated for a lead-actor Oscar for his work in "Rustin," was among five people nominated Thursday for the Image Awards top honor of Entertainer of the Year. Also nominated were Fantasia Barrino, Halle Bailey, Keke Palmer and Usher.

The Image Awards celebrate outstanding achievements and performances of people of color in categories including film, television, music, literature and podcasts.
Domingo was also nominated as outstanding actor in a motion picture for "Rustin," and as a supporting actor in "The Color Purple."
"Rustin" and "The Color Purple" were both nominated for outstanding motion picture, along with "American Fiction," "Origin" and "They Cloned Tyrone."
Also nominated for best actor in a motion picture were Denzel Washington for "The Equalizer 3," Jamie Foxx for "The Burial," Jeffrey Wright for "American Fiction" and John Boyega for "They Cloned Tyrone."
For best actress, nominations went to Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor for "Origin," Barrino for "The Color Purple," Baily for "The Little Mermaid," Teyana Taylor for "A Thousand And One" and Yara Shahidi for "Sitting in Bars with Cake."
"The Color Purple" leads all film nominees with 16.
Among Monét's six nominations was a nod for outstanding new artist, a category that also includes FLO, Jordan Ward, Leon Thomas and October London. Monét is also up for outstanding female artist, competing with Ari Lennox, H.E.R., Janelle Monáe and Tems.
Nominated for outstanding male artist are Burna Boy, Chris Brown, Davido, Jon Batiste and Usher.
The winners in the top categories will be announced during a two-hour ceremony in Los Angeles, airing on CBS and BET. Other winners will be announced during live-stream events planned for March 11-14.
